Scholarly Publishing

The Scholarly Publishing division of University of Toronto Press publishes scholarly research in the humanities and social sciences, and in business and economics. Within Canada, UTP is widely recognized for its strength in history, political science, sociology, Indigenous studies, and cultural studies. Internationally, UTP is a leading publisher of Medieval studies, Renaissance studies, Italian studies, Slavic studies, literary studies, and of book and print culture. Books published with the Scholarly Publishing division have won many prestigious awards and are widely reviewed in both popular book review media and scholarly journals.

UTP has published dozens of notable authors, including Northrop Frye, Robertson Davies, Mariana Valverde, Harold Adams Innis, John Porter, Lester Pearson, Wendy Dobson, Marshall McLuhan, Yousuf Karsh, Carl Berger, Michael Bliss, Marilyn Waring, J.L.
